College Description
Webber College was founded in 1927 by Roger Babson, who was an internationally known economist in the early 1900's. The four-year independent coeducational college is located on beautiful 110-acre campus along the shoreline of Crooked Lake, 45 minutes from Disney World, Cypress Gardens, and many other attractions. Webber is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Built on a strong tradition that sets it apart, the University exemplifies integrity, high standards and achievement. Webber provides an environment that encourages success through academic excellence and hard work. Approximately 240 men and 200 women are enrolled as undergraduates at Webber. Fifty-five percent of the students are from Florida; the other 45 percent represent eleven states and forty-five different countries.

Academic Life
Webber International University offers bachelor's and associate degrees in business administration with eight different concentrations: accounting; finance; hotel and restaurant management; international travel and tourism; management; marketing and retailing; and sports and club management. The school operates on the semester system with two 15-week semesters, a 6-week Summer Term A, and a Summer Term B. The College requires the completion of 60 credit hours for the Associate of Science degree and 120 credit hours for the Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. The average course load is 15 hours per semester. Students in the Bachelor of Science degree program are required to complete 27-30 hours in the area of concentration, 36 hours in the business core, 36 hours in the general education core, and 18-21 hours of tailored electives. Students in the Associate of Science degree program are required to complete 24 hours in the business core, 21 hours in the general education core, and 15 hours in the area of concentration and tailored electives. Webber's off-campus internship programs provide a real world business environment for Webber students. Field trips supplement students' business education.

Campus Life
Webber offers a wide variety of social organizations and clubs such as the Marketing Club, Webber Ambassadors, Colors and Culture Club, Society of Hosteurs, Tourism Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Eta Sigma Delta, and Athletic Boosters. These groups and many others help to sponsor the various social functions at the College. The Student Government Association, the chief governing body of students on Webber's campus, is composed of elected student representatives and a faculty advisor and deals with various areas of student life. The association serves as an advisory and coordinating body for student organizations and involves students in campus policy decisions and actions. Representatives from various student organizations serve on the Student Government Association, as do members elected from the College community.

Facilities and Resources
The Roger Babson Learning Center, located in the central part of the campus, is a modern and comprehensive small-college library facility. The collection currently contains about 36,000 volumes, an assortment of audiovisual materials, and a CD-ROM computer program for reference materials. The library houses computers for student use. The Computer Resources Center is a data processing center and teaching facility whose microcomputers offer the latest modern technology for developing student excellence in business, communication, and creativity.

Athletics/Sports
The College offers intercollegiate sports in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and tennis for men and in basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball for women. Intramural athletics is also available for all students. Webber's physical education complex includes two gymnasiums, a weight room with Universal machines, a soccer field, a junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, and tennis courts. Windsurfing and canoeing are also enjoyed by Webber students.

Financial Aid
The Student Financial Aid Department offers students its counsel and assistance in meeting their educational expenses. Aid is awarded on the basis of an applicant's need, performance, and promise. Approximately 70 percent of the students at Webber receive financial assistance. To demonstrate need, applicants are required to file the Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA). Various types of aid, such as scholarships, grants, loans, and Ferderal Work-Study awards, are used to meet student needs. Applicants for aid must reapply each year. Webber participates in the Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, and Federal Work-Study programs. All applicants are expected to apply for any entitlement grant for which they are eligible; for example, the Florida residents must apply for a Florida Student Assistance Grant and the Florida Resident Access Grant. Federal Stafford Student Loans are also available.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited high school. Webber recommends a minimum of four years of English, three years of mathematics, and preparation in seven other academic subjects. Most accepted candidates rank in the top 50 percent of their high school class. Scores on the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) of the College Board or on the ACT (Assessment of American College Testing) are required for admission. International applicants must submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Early admission is possible for promising high school juniors who have SAT or ACT scores, a strong recommendation from their counselor or principal, and a letter of permission from their parents or guardian. A campus interview with the Vice President of Student Development is required. Applications from transfer students are welcomed, as are those from students resuming their education or adult students who have delayed their entrance to college. Transfer students must be in good standing at their former institution. Applicants who fail to meet regular admissions requirements may be considered on an individual basis by the Admissions Committee for conditional acceptance. An interview is strongly recommended for all applicants.
