Multicultural Profile More than 200 undergraduate and gtraduate degrees are available in 150 fields of study at the U of A. Students benefit from broad financial aid packages and a variety of general and departmental scholarships. Support for multicultural students includes peer group mentoring, academic skills development, career advising and individual counseling. The Black Students Association and seven historically black Greek organizations provide opportunities for involvement. The Inspirational Singers and the Ira Aldridge Players provide avenues for musical and dramatic expression. Arkansas recently celebrated its place in history as the first traditionally white institution in the South to admit black students. Silas M. Hunt Hall was named for the man who first broke the color barrier in 1948. |
