Location and Community
Malone College sits on a 78-acre campus in a quiet, residential area of Canton, Ohio. This setting lends itself to a variety of cultural experiences, including the Professional Football Hall of Fame; the ballet, symphony, and theater; museums; and professional sports teams. There is also easy interstate access to the metropolitan areas of Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown.

Academic Life
Since Malone is a college for the arts, sciences, and professions, there is a comprehensive general education requirement regardless of the chosen course of study. Students must meet requirements in each of Malone’s academic areas, including communications, science, English, Bible/theology, and social science.

Malone students must complete a total of 50 to 56 credit hours in the aforementioned areas. A minimum of 124 credit hours is required to graduate. This is an accumulation of the major requirements, the general education curriculum, and, in most cases, a series of electives. Malone offers forty-nine undergraduate degree opportunities, the most popular of which are early childhood education, nursing, and business administration.

Malone’s academic calendar is based on two semesters, with a summer school that includes three sessions.

Campus Life
At Malone College, students are challenged to grow in three vital aspects of life. Spiritually, students are placed in an environment that lends itself to cultivating a deeper relationship with God. Academically, students encounter rigorous challenges offered by a strong faculty, of whom 68 percent hold doctoral, first professional, or terminal degrees. Socially, Malone offers students a chance to experience the real world through on-campus and off-campus activities in which they are exposed to almost every kind of social influence. This requires them to make vital personal decisions and to formulate their own ideas and moral values.

Malone’s total enrollment (undergraduate, adult degree-completion, and graduate students) for fall 2006 was 2,304 students. More than 1,600 of these students are traditional undergraduates who represent twenty-seven states and nineteen other countries. The average class size is 22 students. More than 945 students live on campus in nine residence halls.

More than 93 percent of traditional Malone students receive some form of financial assistance. This is offered through federal grants and loans, state grants, work opportunities both on and off campus, or Malone College scholarships. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of one or more of the following: need; academic, musical, or athletic talent; or Christian perspective and leadership ability. Malone requires the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The average financial aid package amounts to approximately $14,360 per year.

Other applicants may be accepted by committee approval. A personal interview and campus visit are required in such instances.
