Campbell is a member of the NCAA Division I. There are 8 men's and 9 women's teams which compete in intercollegiate play. Men's varsity sports include basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, track, and wrestling. Women's sports include basketball, softball, cheerleading, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, track and volleyball. During recent years Campbell's basketball, baseball, golf, soccer, and tennis teams have received invitations for post-season competition. 

Campus athletic facilities include the gymnasium, sports fields, three fitness centers (male, female, and co-ed), tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, and liberal access to the university-owned Keith Hills Country Club and golf course.
