College Description 
Bryant University is a four-year, private, New England College that focuses on helping each individual student build the knowledge and character needed to achieve success. Founded in 1863, Bryant offers a student-centered learning environment, state-of-the-art facilities, and academic and co-curricular programming for diverse interests.

Bryant engages students with challenging academic programs in applied psychology, business administration, communication, information technology, and liberal studies. Courses are designed to prepare students for the competitive global market by developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills and providing a solid base for a professional career. As part of their tuition, state-of-the-art IBM laptops, network-ready and fully loaded with software, are provided to all incoming freshmen to ensure that they will have the technology skills that are essential to success in life and business.

The 2,600 full-time, undergraduate students come from 32 states and 37 countries. Bryant has all the advantages of a small community with close relationships among students, faculty, and college administrators. Opportunities abound for the exchange of ideas and dialogue between students and faculty members. Students learn how business decisions impact society and the relationship between business functions and the larger spectrum of human need and well-being.

Bryant College is situated on 392 acres of beautiful New England countryside. Bryant is only 15 minutes from Providence, which offers a variety of restaurants, professional sports events, concerts, and a nationally acclaimed repertory theater. Rhode Island's geographic, historic, and cultural attractions include Newport's world-class sailing, jazz festivals, stunning mansions, and panoramic beaches. Bryant is only one hour from Boston and three hours from New York City and all of the cultural and social amenities in these major metropolitan areas.

Academic Life 
Academic programs focus on the intellectual and professional development of each student in preparation for leadership positions in a wide range of careers. Bryant graduates are successful business people and community leaders in corporate, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial organizations throughout the country and the world. Career exploration and planning begin as early as the freshman year.

Bryant College offers a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology; a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting, accounting information systems, applied actuarial mathematics, computer information systems, finance, financial services, management, and marketing; a Bachelor of Arts in Communication; a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, with concentrations in economics, English, history, and international studies. Students can pursue a minor in one of 18 business and/or liberal arts disciplines.

Advanced Placement
Entering students may receive credit through the Advanced Placement (AP) Program or the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) administered by the College Board. Credit is also awarded for International Baccalaureate (IB) Higher Level exams.

Faculty

Teaching is the prime responsibility of Bryant's full-time faculty. Bryant's focus is on the learning experience and the faculty's focus is on teaching. Professors make a special effort to turn the classroom into a forum for the presentation and exchange of ideas. They are scholars, business professionals, and teachers, and they serve as role models and mentors. Among the faculty at Bryant you’ll find a practicing clinical psychologist, a nationally respected expert in advertising effectiveness and public policy, and the State Poet Laureate of Rhode Island. Bryant faculty members are also active in original research projects, publishing, consulting, and community service. 86 percent of full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty have the highest degrees in their fields. Several faculty members are current or former Fulbright scholars.

Learning Outside the Classroom
Bryant College offers students various opportunities to expand their learning beyond the classroom. Students can gain practical experience in their field of study through the College internship program. Each year, over 400 students get a head start on their careers through internships or practica at companies such as Walt Disney World, Fidelity Investments, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the New England Patriots, and a variety of nonprofit organizations.

By studying abroad for a semester, students gain exposure to new cultures as well as intellectual knowledge. Bryant students have to studied in Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, Japan, Canada, Australia, and many other countries.

Bryant participates in the Army ROTC Program.

Graduate School
Bryant College Graduate School offers a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with concentrations in accounting, computer information systems, e-strategy, finance, general business, management, marketing, and operations management; a Master of Science in Accounting (M.S.A.); a Master of Science in Information Systems (M.S.I.S.); and a Master of Science in Taxation (M.S.T.); as well as a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S.).

Campus Life 
Bryant's 60 student clubs and organizations benefit many social causes, provide recreational enjoyment, and support educational goals. From the Marketing Association to the Global Entrepreneurship Program to the Performing Arts Committee, Bryant provides activities for many areas of interest. The Student Senate, the student governing body, serves as a channel of communication among students and faculty and administrators. The Student Programming Board organizes cultural and social programs for the Bryant community. The size of Bryant's campus allows easy access to all campus services, and there are many places for students to gather and enjoy bands, poetry, and comedians. Housing at Bryant is guaranteed for four years and more than 80 percent of students live on campus. There is a variety of housing arrangements to choose from, including the First-Year Complex, suite-style residence halls, and the townhouse villages for seniors.

Facilities and Resources 
Bryant's modern campus is anchored by the Unistructure, which houses faculty and administrative offices, classrooms, Janikies Auditorium, and dining facilities. The Bryant Center contains meeting and eating places and student services such as the bookstore, a dry-cleaning service, a copy center, and a hair salon. The Koffler Technology Center offers 160 computer workstations, high-speed Internet connections, laser printers, and scanners.

The George E. Bello Center for Information and Technology is the hub of technological activity on campus with thousands of wired and wireless data ports. It houses the Douglas and Judith Krupp Library; high tech classrooms; the Grand Hall; the Financial Markets Center, which simulates real-world trading conditions; team study rooms; and the "Bulldog Bytes" Café.

The Douglas and Judith Krupp Library contains more than 150,000 items in a variety of formats from publications to audiovisuals and subscriptions to more than 5,000 journals and newspapers in traditional hard copy or electronic format, making it one of the region's most comprehensive business library collections. A bank of high-speed computers provides access to numerous reference databases, including Bryant's own International Trade Data Network.

Athletics
Bryant College is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA Division II. Intercollegiate teams include baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track. Athletes compete in the Northeast-10 Conference and the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Students can choose from among 19 varsity, 11 club, and seven intramural sports. Bryant's athletic facilities include 35 acres of playing fields, challenging cross-country trails, six outdoor tennis courts, and an eight-lane 400-meter outdoor track. The Multipurpose Activities Center (MAC) houses three multipurpose courts, five racquetball courts, and the newly constructed Wellness Center. The Wellness Center is a 9,000 square-foot facility modeled after private sector health clubs and is equipped with the latest exercise and conditioning equipment, a group exercise room for aerobics, yoga, tai chi and spinning. The center offers a host of programs, classes, and other opportunities for students to achieve physical fitness.

Costs and Financial Aid 
For the academic year freshman tuition and fees are $26,458 including the use of a personal IBM Pentium 4 laptop computer. Residential housing is guaranteed for all students, and 80 percent choose to live on campus in residence halls (freshmen live in the first-year complex), where room and board is $8,546.

Upperclassmen may live in townhouses, where the fee is $6,450 for a single-occupancy room and $6,012 for a double. There are special fees for the summer sessions.

Bryant has a comprehensive program of merit- and need-based financial aid. The majority of freshmen receive financial aid through a combination of scholarships, loans, grants, and part-time jobs. The average aid package is $16,700. Bryant uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Bryant College Financial Aid Application. The FAFSA must be filed after January 1. Admission Requirements 
Bryant College seeks students who are motivated learners and have a history of academic achievement. Acceptance is based upon the quality of scholastic achievement shown by the individual applicant. Scores earned on the SAT I or on the ACT must be submitted. The Admission Committee considers recommendations from the secondary school guidance office and faculty members concerning character and personal qualifications not shown in the academic record. Interviews, though not required, may be scheduled in advance of a campus visit.

Application Information
Applications must be submitted to the Office of Admission, with a nonrefundable fee of $50. It is the responsibility of the applicant to request that the secondary school guidance office send a copy of the student's school record directly to Bryant and to have SAT I or ACT scores sent to the College. International applicants must also submit TOEFL scores and a completed Certification of Finances form. The Early Decision and Early Action deadline is November 15. The regular application deadline is February 15.
